Join me the Great Smoky Mountains!

Welcome to an unforgettable photography workshop in the breathtaking Great Smoky Mountains! Whether you're a seasoned pro or just starting out, this experience is designed to enhance your skills, ignite your creativity, and connect you with fellow photography enthusiasts. You'll capture the stunning landscapes, diverse wildlife (Bears!), and vibrant spring colors that the Smokies are renowned for. My hands-on sessions will help you master techniques that bring your vision to life, while our friendly environment ensures you have fun along the way.

Here's what you can expect:

  • Explore iconic locations at the best times of day for great images.

  • Learn tips and tricks for capturing the perfect shot.

  • Engage with others photography enthusiasts and receive personalized feedback.

With the entire park at our disposal, here are a few of the iconic locations we’ll visit:

Cade’s Cove

The iconic Cade’s Cove provides opportunities to photograph in a variety of conditions and with a variety of techniques. One can opt to shoot distant scenes with a long lens, classic landscapes with a wide angle lens, and everything in between. Misty mornings, rustic charm of historic cabins, and the variety of wildlife makes Cade’s Cove the ideal location to create portfolio level images.

The Foothills

We will grab our long lenses and from atop the magical Foothills Parkway, we’ll photograph the essence of the Great Smoky Mountains. From the foothills, we will capture the rolling mist that gives the Smokies their name, stunning sunsets, and expansive vistas that stretch for miles. The Parkway's viewpoints provide a unique vantage point to appreciate the grandeur of the Smokies.

Tremont & Roaring Fork

With lush green cover, cascades, and rock filled streams, the Tremont and Roaring Fork areas of the Great Smoky Mountains provide ample opportunities for photographers to immerse themselves in the environment and create powerful images. The rushing waters provide a dynamic element to your compositions, allowing for creative long-exposure shots that emphasize the movement of the water or fast shutter speeds to show off its power.

Wildlife

No trip to the Great Smoky Mountains would be complete without an opportunity to photograph the diverse wildlife that calls the park their home. There are, of course, the estimated 1,900 Black Bears that can be found throughout the park, but the spring also provides a chance for us to potentially photograph a wide variety of birds migrating north through the park, including Meadowlarks, Buntings and Warblers.
